MEETING WITH TURKISH AMBASSADOR TO VIETNAM

(Vietpeace) In the morning of September14, 2012, at the Union Headquarters in Hanoi, the President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Vu Xuan Hong, had a friendly meeting with H.E. Mr. Ahmet Akif Oktay, Turkish Ambassador in Vietnam.

President Vu Xuan Hong welcomed the visit to the Union of H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Akif Oktay and also expressed a desire to exchange and strengthen the cooperation with the Turkish Embassy in Vietnam.

President Vu Xuan Hong and Ambassador Ahmet Akif Oktay visited the Union’s Traditional House to better understand the history, roles, functions and tasks of the permanent organizations, the network of member organizations, member associations and the Commission on foreign non-governmental organizations.

Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Akif Oktay expressed his deep appreciation about the country, people and the dynamic development of Vietnam in the renewal process, praised the friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, and also celebrated the great achievements in socio-economic development, the role and the growing international status of Vietnam. The Ambassador expressed his desire to further promote the solidarity and the excellent friendship between the two countries and said he hoped that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations will be a bridge for bilateral cooperation in the fields of economics, culture, education and tourism between Turkey and Vietnam.

President Vu Xuan Hong celebrated the achievements of Turkey during the past years and expressed his confidence that Turkey will, in the future, gain greater victories in the work of the construction and development of the country.
