30 August Victory Day message of the Embassy

Hanoi Büyükelçiliği 28.08.2020

Esteemed Turkish citizens,

Dear Vietnamese friends,

Today we commemorate the 98th anniversary of the greatest victory of the War of Liberation that was won by our armies under the command of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

This Victory was essentially the rise of our nation from its ashes and the expression of its definition of a new course of life for itself.

The torch of independence lighted in 1919 under difficult conditions and deprivations was crowned with the Battle of Commander-in-Chief on August 30 under the leadership of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades.

30 August Victory is the most obvious proof of what our nation can venture and accomplish to save its independence and its dignity.

On August 30, 1922, the Turkish nation announced to the whole world that it would never bow to oppression and forego its independence in any way.

On this occasion, we once again commemorate Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, all our martyrs and veterans with God’s grace.

Happy 30 August Victory Day!

Atatürk
